Turisme de Barcelona takes part in the World Travel Market in London

The institutional agenda and think-tanks on world tourism will be the focus of attention at the travel sector fair

Turisme de Barcelona has a packed schedule lined up over the coming months with the World Travel Market in London as the main event, followed by a number of promotional activities in distant markets, including Bogota and Mexico City, as well as markets closer to home, like Switzerland. The consortium will also be taking part in the IBTM in Barcelona.

During the first week of November, we have a date in the British capital where more than 50,000 professionals from the travel sector, along with representatives of governments and organisations from different tourist destinations, will meet over three intense days to discuss the main challenges facing the travel industry. The Word Travel Market is one of the most important events in the tourism sector and every year features a growing number of talks and panel discussions analysing the current hot topics.

Last year's travel market focused on strategies for managing tourism flows, and this year the central topic will be the use of technologies, with Harold Goodwin as the main speaker. There will also be a panel discussion chaired by the general manager of Turisme de Barcelona, Joan Torrella, on the main challenges facing sustainability and tourism.

At this year's fair, Turisme de Barcelona, Barcelona Provincial Council and the Catalan Tourism Agency will be sharing a stand showcasing the region's tourism offer under the brand name Barcelona with the slogan 'Barcelona is much more'.
