While Covid-19 figures remain stable, the Catalan government has been gradually easing certain restrictions but keeping overarching measures such as the ban on nightlife and curfew.

Catalonia’s inoculation campaign began last December and as of April 5th there are over one million residents who have received the first dose of the vaccine, a number which will increase over the coming weeks.

The EU is designing a Covid-19 vaccination passport, which will allow movements within the continent for those who have been vaccinated, or who have produced antibodies, as well as those who have been tested (PCR or antigen test). In Spain, the passport could be available before summer.

In this context, Turisme de Barcelona has announced its first face-to-face promotion mission in Russia to explain and promote the city as a safe destination. Russia has been one of the markets with the most international flight bookings in the first quarter of the year, and the perception of Europe as a safe destination is a fact. Therefore, next week a delegation from Barcelona Tourism will be in Moscow and St. Petersburg to meet with the main tour operators. We will inform you in detail in the next newsletter.
